Weight Loss Timeline Calculator

Weight loss timeline calculator

This calculator gives you a rough date for reaching a target weight at a chosen weekly pace. It is a projection, not a promise, and plateaus are normal.

Enter your current weight, target weight, and pace to see an estimated date.

What this result means

One kilogram of body fat is roughly 7700 calories, so the date below is worked out from how many kilograms you want to lose and how fast you plan to lose them. A pace of 0.25 to 1 kg per week is a sensible band. Losing faster than 1 kg per week for long is hard to keep up and can cost you muscle.

The same 1200 kcal a day floor rule applies here. If reaching your chosen pace would push your daily intake below about 1200 kcal, that pace is too aggressive to follow on your own, and you should aim slower or get medical guidance first.

Limits and when to see a doctor

Real weight loss is not a straight line. Plateaus happen. Weight can stay the same for two or three weeks even when you are doing everything right, and then drop again. Water weight, monthly cycles, salt, and hormones all move the scale. The date below is only a rough projection, not a promise. A slower pace is usually the one you can actually keep. If you are pregnant, under 18, diabetic, or on regular medication, plan your weight with a doctor rather than using this tool.
